Edwin Rubis was born in El Salvador. His family moved to Houston, Texas when he was 11 years old. Edwin’s family consists of his father and mother, three sons, brothers, and sisters, who reside in Houston and the vicinity.
In 1998, Edwin was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Agency and charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He was later found guilty through a jury trial and received a 40 years sentence for a non-violent cannabis crime. Edwin has been incarcerated for over 25 years. During this time, he has accomplished over 30 educational programs, and has earned three college degrees, which include a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling.
Edwin believes in redemption and second chances. He is an advocate for non-violence and prison rehabilitation. He is an author and writer. Edwin’s goals and dreams, upon his release from prison, is to become a published author of self-help books and to mentor and empower others through public speaking and life coaching.
